THE BEACH

Situated between Cape Woolamai and Smiths Beach, Surf Beach is a small township that boasts breathtaking ocean views and some of the best surf on the island.

This area of Surf Beach is locally known as Crazy Birds Beach because the dunes that line the esplanade are a breeding ground for the protected Shearwater birds, who fly from Alaska, between October and April.

You can view the fascinating arrival of the adult birds who feed their young at dusk daily during these months from the beach boardwalk (less than 500M away from the house!).
